Livestock Production class had fun today creating models of digestive systems in livestock species using Play-Doh.

The 3rd graders were each gifted a pack of sports cards from Mr. Slayton. The students are excited to know that this is one of many prizes they can earn throughout the school year by working hard in the classroom.

The juniors split into two groups for our industry tours this afternoon. One group heard about careers in rural telecommunications and the other group learned about careers in the motor sports industry. Thank you, Consolidated Telecommunications and 05 Motor Sports!

The juniors have been at DSU for the College Fair this morning! What a great morning and we're enjoying a great outdoor lunch now. We are headed to a few industry tours this afternoon. Stay tuned! 🔥

The community is invited to join us this Wednesday, September 11, at 8:20 AM in front of the building at the American flag! In remembrance of 9.11, Patriot Day, we will have a brief ceremony. A musical selection will be played by our High School Band as well as a vocal performance by three of our high school students. We will hear from SFC Lucas Greff, Readiness NCO for 68th Troop Command, ending with the pledge of allegiance. Please join us!

8th grade science students put their engineering skills to the test by designing and building miniature bridges! Hands-on at its finest as they explore the science of structure and design.

School pictures are Thursday, September 12. Picture forms will be sent home with Head Start and Elementary students today. 7-12 Grade students will get their forms tomorrow, September 6.

The 5th grade girls did a great job singing "A Million Dreams" at the elementary assembly last Friday!

K-6 celebrated the first Wildfire Day of the school year! These are monthly assemblies where we show lotsa school spirit (Wildfire/Huskies/Jaguars) and show how we've been helpers throughout the month. Students get recognized for submitting pop tops (supporting the Ronald McDonald House), "box tops for education" (helps us earn money for class field trips), birthdays, academic/extracurricular achievements, and we love hearing from our elementary music program! Keep at it, Wildfire!
