It's time to talk about Fire Safety! October 4-10 is Fire Prevention week and we were lucky enough to have some local firemen in the school to visit with our elementary students about fire safety. Jimmy Pouncey and Hunter Crist were here from the Mott Fire Brigade and Tristin Florey and Shiloh Donner from the Regent Fire Department.
Students were reminded what to do in case of a fire in their homes and how to use a fire extinguisher. When that portion of the assembly was over, it was time for questions. Then came the student's favorite part, seeing how fast the firemen could put their gear on. They were pretty quick!
After the assembly, the students were able to check out the firetrucks, climb in, and use the sirens. It was pretty loud around Mott for a while.
Each student was kindly gifted a stocking cap to keep them warm this winter.
Thank you to our local fire departments for keeping us safe!
