• Memorized Public Speaking

Memorized Public Speaking is a contest in which you write your own speech on an agricultural related topic.  The speech must last five to eight minutes during the presentation to the judges.

The CDE occurs during District Leadership.  The top two individuals from each district move on to compete at state.  The final four at the state convention give their speech to the entire convention hall assembly.

This is a good contest to participate in because it will help to develop your public speaking skills.  You will become more comfortable in front of an audience while giving a presentation.  This may be beneficial to you doing future job interviews and/or expressing your ideas to the community.

Memorized Public Speaking will also enhance your skills for other FFA contests.  For example, when you have to give reasons for livestock judging, you will become more comfortable with the knowledge you have gained from the public speaking contest.
