• Ag Sales is a team/individual event consisting of three to five member teams. Participants conduct a sales presentation on an Agriculture related product of their choice. Each member of the team must choose a different product or item to sell. The sales presentation is seven minutes long with three minutes allowed for judges to ask questions about the product you are selling. There are two judges, one acting as the buyer and the other os the judge. During the sales presentation, the participant must present the strengths of the product as well as answer various questions the buyer has. The team then takes an objective test on sales and salesmanship. Members work individually on the exam of 50 multiple choice questions. To do well in this contest, members must be knowledgeable about products in the Ag industry and have good "people" skills. Since there are a high number of sales jobs available in this field. It's a good opportunity for students to gain experience in dealing with customers and selling a product.
